West Virginia Spring Salamander
Gyrinophilus subterraneus, the West Virginia Spring Salamander, has been found in only a single cave in the world, General Davis Cave in West Virginia. This cave therefore accommodates one of the most range-restricted salamanders in the world. This is a larval individual from the cave stream within General Davis Cave. Photographed 2007.
