West African Dwarf Crocodile

West African Dwarf Crocodile, Osteolaemus tetraspis. A rare and decreasing small crocodile (maximum recorded size 6.3 feet but generally smaller) found in West-central and Western Africa. It is listed on Appendix #1, CITES and IUCN Red List as VULNERABLE. Primarily found in permanent pools in swamps and areas of slow-moving freshwater in rain forests.
