
Thylacine (Specimen, Now Extinct)
The thylacine (Thylacinus cynocephalus) was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times. Native to Tasmania, its extinction is blamed on hunting, disease, the introduction of dogs, and habitat loss.
