DUNCAN DAVIDSON ( Chairman) and JOHN WHITE (Group Chief Executive) of Persimmon at the annoucement of their end of Year Results for 2005. Their pre-tax profits were up by 5.9% at £495.5 million. Housebuilder Persimmon PLC gave an upbeat view of its prospects for 2006 after it reported record annual profits. It unveiled a 5.9 pct increase in pretax profit to a record 495.4 mln stg,Turnover grew 7.5 pct to 2.29 bln stg after completing the sale of 12,636 homes, up from 12,360 previously. Average selling price grew 5 pct to 180,892 stg per unit from 172,431 stg, and chief executive John White , who is taking on Duncan Davidson's role as chairman in April, is predicting further increases this year.
