
Oculomotor Nerve in Cavernous Sinus, MRI
This coronal (frontal) contrast enhanced T1 weighted image through the region of the pituitary gland and cavernous sinuses demonstrates the right (on your left) oculomotor (3rd cranial nerve) nerve within the right cavernous sinus immediately above the intracavernous segment of the right internal carod artery. This nerve goes into the orbit and controls the superior, inferior and medial rectus muscles of the eye which control eye movement.
