
MUSEUM OF MEDICINE
Photo essay. The Museum of Dr. Guislain to the north of the "Porte Brugeoise" quarter in Gand, Belgium. The building houses the oldest psychiatric hospital in Belgium. The museum is an important record of the history of psychiatry, of the beginnings of the discipline in the 19th century and of the life of Dr. Guislain himself, the first Belgian psychiatrist. Anthropometrics table for measuring the human body, used mainly for authentication and identification purposes.
