Mrs Agnes Oxley, witness in Buck Ruxton murder case
Mrs Agnes Oxley (with her husband Mr Oxley), a key witness in the Buck Ruxton murder case, as she worked as a charlady at the house where the murders took place. Buck Ruxton (Bukhtyar Chompa Rustomji Ratanji Hakim, 1899-1936), an Indian-born British physician, was convicted and hanged for the murders in September 1935 of his common-law wife, Isabella Ruxton (nee Kerr), and their housemaid, Mary Jane Rogerson, at their home in Lancaster. The murders are also known as the Bodies under the Bridge and the Jigsaw Murders.
