Mieux vaut que jamais, c1803-4
This French print, entitled 'Mieux vaut que jamais' (better late than never) depicts a French Grenadier guard standing over a vomiting King George III and Tsar Alexander of Russia. Coins fall out of their thrones as colonies fall from their mouths. This French print satirises the military successes of the French army during the French Revolutionary wars, which forced both Britain and Russia to reliquish wealth, power and some of their colonies
