
Mangrove Plantation
These young mangroves (Rhizophora sp) have been planted to replace former natural mangrove wetland removed for commercial prawn and fish farming ponds. Eventually productivity went down due to the loss of nutrients in the soil and water, necessitating replanting. Java, Indonesia.
