
Larry Rivers in His Studio
Larry Rivers paints in his Chelsea Hotel studio in Manhattan, 1964. Rivers, born Yitzrok Loiza Grossberg, began as a jazz saxophonist and was a contemporary and friend of Miles Davis. As a painter, he produced pop art that bordered on the abstract and became one of America's most important postwar artists. Born 1923, died 2002.
