
Hida Salamander
The Hida Salamander, Hynobius kimurae, deposits its eggs in sleeves or egg cases containing 8 to 15 eggs. The eggs hatch and the first few days of the larvae are spent within the egg sleeve. This individual was photographed in Tottori Prefecture, Japan (2007).
