Goldenwave, Coreopsis tinctoria, is one of the most showy prairie wildflowers. The petals can be solid yellow as shown here or marked with maroon at their bases. Sometimes called threadleaf coreopsis or tickseed, it is abundant from KS and MO south To GA, TX and NM. It is much used as a garden flower.
