Footprints of Nanking Victims
Footprints of Chinese "comfort women" preserved in bronze at a museum in Nanking. During the occupation of Nanking by the Japanese, many Chinese women were raped and used as sex slaves by Japanese soldiers. Many years later they came forward and pressed charges, and then left their footsteps in bronze as a memorial.
