First HQ in France for journalists covering the invasion
The Press had established themselves in Bernieres by 1030 hours on D-Day in the Hotel de Grave, now a private house, No 288, Rue du Regiment de la Chaudiere. The plaque commemorates ' The first HQ for journalists, photographers and moviemakers, British and Canadian, from which the first reports destined for the press and radio of the world were despatched'.
