Detail of a relief of the Adoration of the Magi - 12th centu
Detail of a relief of the Adoration of the Magi, most likely 12th century, with thick rendering surrounding it, in St Gregory the Great's Church. Most of the church has work from circa 1860, but there is some older masonry in the south transept, and the chancel arch could date to the 13th - 14th centuries, and the preist's door and south window are possibly 16th century. The style is crude, with the Magi's right arm raised stiffly to greet the three Kings approaching from the left.
