Comet Lulin

Comet Lulin (C2007 / N3) on February 21, 2009 at approximately 05:40 UT. Comet Lulin's Anti-Tail points to the lower left (east) and it's blue ion tail points to the upper right (west). North is to the top in this frame. The anti-tail is the dust tail that appears to point in the opposite direction from the regular ion tail and is caused by an effect of the orbital geometry and our viewing angle here on Earth when the comet passes through the ecliptic.
