
Apollo 4 Transported To Launch Pad
Apollo 4, the first space vehicle in NASA's Apollo/Saturn V program, leaves the Vehicle Assembly Building for erection at Pad A of Complex 39. The 364 foot, three stage rocket and spacecraft, weighing 6,286,000 pounds when fueled, is being transported on the mobile launcher to the launch pad. The transporter moves over the specially constructed crawlerway designed to support loads of approximately 18 million pounds. August 26, 1967.
