
2006 Nebraska Ice Storm
Intense ice storm slams south central Nebraska on December 31, 2006. Some areas recieved over 2 inches of ice accumulation from long duration freezing drizzle and freezing rain. Damage to power lines was well into the millions of dollars. Most east-west power lines in the open were downed. This storm extended down to southwest Kansas where it was just as severe.
